First time use: Clean the pan with hot soapy water and a soft sponge. It's also best to recondition non-stick cookware before the first use. To do this, use a paper towel or soft cloth and wipe 1 tsp. of vegetable oil to the surface. Do this to a pan that is room temperature. Do this every 3-4 months or until food begins to stick to the pan. This will maintain the longevity of Viking Non-stick Cookware.
Cleaning after use: Always wash the pan with hot soapy water and a soft sponge after use. Never use an abrasive brush as this can harm the pan's surface. Do not use cleaners that contain chlorine bleach. Rinse and dry thoroughly before storing the pan.
Cooking temperature: Always cook non-stick cookware at a low to medium heat. It is rarely needed to cook at a high heat as Viking's aluminum center is an excellent heat conductor. When frying or sauteing, preheat the pan for 1-2 minutes before adding food to the pan to help minimize sticking. Viking Non-stick Cookware is oven-safe, but in temperatures no higher than 400 degrees F.
Utensils: Sharp and abrasive utensils will damage the interior of a non-stick surface. Always use soft silicone, nylon, and wooden utensils while cooking. Never cut food with a sharp knife inside the pan. This will harm the non-stick surface.
